Kindle Worlds

I'm seeing more and more stuff being released under the "Kindle Worlds" banner.

I know that it is supposed to be an outlet for authorized fan fiction, but how much control of the content does the creator have? For instance, there are a TON of Silo stories out already, coming from the world Hugh Howey created.

Bram Stoker winner John Everson has written something for Vampire Diaries, which I don't know, is that considered fan-fic?

I'm kind of on the fence with all of this. There are stories that seem interesting, but at the same time, I can see where a lot of junk is going to be produced under that name.

Do you think this is just a money grab by amazon?
