To me both hardwares are equivalent, with Sony's buttons having a slight edge.
Both have half baked firmware, IMHO. Cybook's is somewhat better than Sony's, both have dramatic gaps and limitations.
Example - Sony supports RTF - but not embedded pictures. So all your maps and illustrations go away.
CYBook supports HTLM - but only single file HTML and can get lost shifting back and forth with italics.
Neither one supports folder structures, making impossible to handle multifile HTML and large libraries of ebooks.
CYBook has made several small firmware upgrades, Sony had made less firmware upgrades.
I own a CYBook Gen3, but don't use it, due to firmware limitations. I still use a CYBook original reader, weighing 1 Kilo and with an LCD screen. It's software works perfectly.......
