Hi Sara-Louise, welcome to the forum. i can't speak for ALL foreign language books, however if you are looking for some french language books you can find at least some of them in our upload section by doing a tag search for "french" or "french language" or "français" (since you apparently read french, look in the french forum for a sticky explaining how to do a tag search).
you can also find quite a lot of francophone litterature on feedbooks which can be formatted for a kindle.
also, in the french forum there are a few threads about ebook ressources for finding ebooks in french, including quite a lot of public domain (free...) sites ; take a look around to find quite a lot to keep you busy. no-one in the french forum is talking about kindle books (for obvious reasons) however you can read any non-drm mobipocket book on the kindle, if i've understood correctly. so that still leaves you a lot of options.
as for your original question, i would not be surprised if amazon sold almost exclusively english-language kindle books, since the kindle can only be bought in the US, and kindle books only be bought using an american credit card.
