Some interesting comments about the Sony and Kobo software here.
I have no idea about the software on the new T-models, but I love the robust way Sony handles things on my PRS-950. I read that Sony's excellent reader software even got better with their latest models. So that should be good.
My only personal experience with an other brand is with my Onyx Firefly and I have to admit it sucks big time. The hardware of the Onyx is outstanding, but very little to no thought at all has gone into the software. It is crude and primitive and unappealing and can not make use of the Calibre tag system, which is very disappointing.
My first ereader was a Sony and because of that I naively expected every ereader to have software of comparable quality. Boy, was I in for a disappointment.
And my biggest irritation is that the Onyx has problems with displaying some epubs correctly. I did not even realize that could happen, because my Sony PRS-950 always displays every epub flawless (unless it is actually corrupt of course).
So that is a worry for me. I am really considering buying a Kobo Aura, but I am a bit afraid the software might disappoint.
