if you manage your shelves with calibre, when you reconnect to calibre (if you have things set to automated (so it checks metadata when you connect the device)) it should just have the books jump back on the shelves automatically....
when connected to calibre looking at the books on the sd card, are the books listed as being on shelves?
if yes, and you disconnect, are they back on shelves?
