Yes and you would be right if it would.
But it doesn't.
Not if Sony used current tech high quality front lighting like Onyx does, or Kobo does. Have you ever experienced first hand how frontlighting on modern readers looks?
I can imagine that you would be put off by images or vids on the net of ereaders with frontlighting. In reality it works so much better than that. It does not compromise the clarity or contrast in the slightest. Quite the opposite I would say.
And if push comes to shove..... you can switch it off if you want to. You have a choice. You do not have that choice if it is not even included, as with Sony's current products..
