Why that is, I cannot imagine. The only good thing, I guess, is that I can get books in epub format and into my Kobo or PRS-650, or I can use Bluefire on the iDevices. No other Adobe enabled app will work. 14 days is the longest borrowing period (its a month with dead tree books) and I have only found 3 books that I wanted to read. Done and dusted. I suppose I should check in again sometime to see if they have got anything else in there apart from their usual.

If I understand it correctly, Overdrive and the software package required to run it is licensed to libraries--in other words it costs money. The books also cost money. My library resisted for a long time and had no-name packages too. They finally went together with 3 other libraries and got overdrive and some books.
