I do have copies, but if I have a hard drive failure or let's say a house fire even. It would be nice to be able to download the books again.

I travel and I don't carry my library with me always. I sometimes go to my book accounts and download the book to the device I'm reading on at the time.

For me it's a matter of convenience and the principle that I have paid for the books and cannot access them.
