Fermilab's status (formerly stated as #2) has now changed too. Since CERN's LHC has had to shutdown to fix something, and will take a month to shut down, running into a mandatory winter shutdown-fix-period, it'll be 2009 till they are running again. So we are still #1 !

But a tour would probably take a whole afternoon. 1 hour to get here (and that's assuming a really good travel time), 1 to 2 hours for a tour, and 1 hour to get you back.
