Thanks for the DRM infection info on Samsung's ebooks. Alf is my good friend and I won't buy any ebook he doesn't approve of.

Outstanding! I hope it works for you. From this & the other thread in this forum there Aremoethan a few fellow N8 users. That should make it fun to share to learn together.

I'll share something I only recently came to understand about READING MODE.

You can customize what apps will activate the mode. First if you don't know READING MODE is a nice way to help add flexibility in.controlling display lighting by warming the effective color temperature. Sort of like the Lux app I ran on my Win laptops but with less control. Btw, this mode can help people to try and reduce eyestrain.

Spoiler:

Go to SETTINGS and find the display option or press & hold the READING MODE button atihetop of the screen:

Here is what my list looks like right now:

Just press the ADD button to see a list of pretty much all your currently installed apps. The list lets you select → 20 apps.

Later you can add or remove apps as needed.

Oh, selecting a case is, well an adventure. Rather than reinvent that wheel I'd be happy to post links to threads elsewhere. And maybe selecting a case deserves it's own thread.

Most of all hope you have fun learning your new toy..., err....tool!

One last fast tip... you might consider disabling the SMART STAY device setting. It just doesn't work aswell as you might hope and you can save power with it disabled.
