There's really no problem with reading with gloves. Just press the power button to start and then press the page forward button. You can't make annotations with gloves since you can't use the stylus. But reading is really no problem at all. This is such an elegant device, I'm sure you're going to have a lot of fun with it during your walks in winter. Just take care you buy an original Sony case with your Ereader to protect it properly.
