If it is true that Sony is still not offering built-in light, I can only assume they are counting on the current owners of obsolete Reader models to upgrade. There are plenty of people (especially former PRS-700 owners) who may have convinced themselves that no light is better then light. I wonder if the idiots in Sony marketing have convinced themselves that people are buying their product because they don't want light.

I have a hard time seeing many new users coming on board if the built-in light is not offered as at least an option. What exactly is the value add? eInk HD? No, everyone else has it already. Auto-switch cover for those who can't be bothered to push a button? Page-turn buttons? Body design?
