You know folks, it really is a strange thing. My uncle owned a meat market, and while it was not a slaughter house, and while we at various times had chickens, pigs, even beef cattle and I was always exposed to hunting and even slaughter of animals -I've dragged in and skinned bucks, plucked/cleaned fowl, etc. somehow the bug larvae thing is pretty repugnant. Maybe it's the cooking that makes a difference. I'd like to think I'm a pretty logical guy, it's just protein, but somehow meat bothers me far less than the thought of eating insects, larvae, etc. Maybe a lot of it is that live bugs does not equal a properly cooked and seasoned steak in the jumble of bad wiring I call a consciousness... I suppose it all comes back to early training, and availability. We are so much of what we started as in those first five years. Thank heaven the potty training went well!

Local news item tonight was that a high school class had investigated and determined that Oreo DoubleStuffs do not actually have double the stuff(filling). What, I ask you, is the world coming to? Can we accept nothing at face value?
