The back button was removed sometime after firmware 2.1.5 I think. It would be nice to have it back.
For your problem of which language the book is in: the language should be displayed on the book details page, which can be seen without opening the book, and returns you to the place you were in the library when closed.
(Access the details page by a long press on the book's library listing, select View Details from the pop-up menu, then select Details from the Synopsis/Related Reading/Details pull-down menu)
