I'm reading a Shell Scott detective novel, by Richard S. Prather who died last year.

I discovered these in the mid-60s and loved them. There are over 40 Shell Scott novels and they are more fun now than when I was a teenager.

I can highly recommend these. They are well-plotted, with great description and great action.

Fictionwise has - almost - the entire set, but almost all of them are $7.64 each and that's with my membership.
