While this is theoretically true, one installation of ADE does not seem to produce usable books for both kinds of DRM. Kobo, Sony et al do not use non-Adept DRM ePUBs on their devices so if you use ADE for your Nook books, you can not then load them on your Kobo devices with the B&N flavour of DRM still attached.

People have been stomping their feet about this for a very long time saying that book sellers/device manufacturers could elect to have both live on their devices. It hasn't happened yet and I would not hold my breath waiting to have it happen in the future.
