See, I'm the same way too. It's bad enough that the first review always gets the highest votes just because it's the first. It's another problem that people rate humorous reviews "helpful" just because they're funny.
If I'm seriously thinking about buying something, that's not the kind of "review" I want to see. And as someone who does post a lot of reviews on Amazon, I don't want to see it rated higher than mine either.
