If I am paying with a debit card I can go ahead and enter it in my checkbook (with a memo notating the TBR date) so I don't forget. But if I'm paying with a gift card it can cause issues. So I prefer to just have the transaction done at the time of the pre-order.

Then I keep a list in Evernote of my pre-ordered books. Samhain is very good about sending an email reminder when pre-ordered books are available for download, but not every store is. So I like to keep my own list.
