Oh, the night was clear and the stars were shinin'
And the moon came up,... so quiet in the sky
And all the people gathered round while the band was a-tunin'
I can hear them now... playin' 'Comin' Through the Rye'
She was dressed in blue and she looked so lovely
Just a gentle flower of a small town girl
Then he took her hand and they danced to the music
With a single smile... she became his world
And they danced all night... to the fiddle and the banjo
Their driftin' tunes, seemed to fill the air
So long ago, but they still remember...
When they fell in love, at the Roseville Fair

Good morning, all! This song was going around and around in my mind as I woke up today. What a lovely way to start a Thursday! To keep it rolling, I poured a cup of my new English Breakfast tea. Perfect!

(Shudder...) The memories of Lariam.... wow! It's the only time I was ever happy that a disease mutated so a drug would stop working! Horrible, horrible experiences!

I remember the 100% DEET 'jungle juice' we were issued during the war. I'm surprised WE didn't melt! Terrible smell! Same with the stuff I used as a kid. But I think that these days they must be using a different formula, as there isn't that old familiar smell....

... nor does it even 'feel' oily or greasy the way I remember from my younger days. The stuff I use now dries almost immediately, without leaving my skin feeling oily.

Catnip is said to have some mosquito repellent qualities. I haven't tried it.

Catnip is of the mint family. I wonder if any mint would work? I LOVE mint! A lot of people in New England use Avon's "Skin So Soft" lotion, which works perfectly for keeping away the biting bugs they have there, plus giving the benefit of a real skin-care product.
DEET will do a perfect job of dissolving many plastics. Have to be real careful not to get it near my camera equipment. I transferred some into a small travel spray bottle once, then put that inside a zip-lock bag just for safety (fortunately.) A month later all that was left inside the bag was the bottle's cap and a few ounces of liquid...
Time for one more mug of tea, the a visit to the Food Lady!
