Well this has been a fascinating discussion so far! I think the three of us building CC are going to have quite a few changes to make before we send out the next beta version.
Our constant battle is adding enough features to improve the experience for 'advanced' users, but without so many options that it confuses new users. I don't know if we always get the balance right, but that's what we're striving towards.
