Indeed. I'm pretty quick to give up on a book if it drags for too long (I've never gotten out of Tom Bombadil's forest in LoTR....) but I don't feel CC fell into this category. I got past the opening poetry and Robin's engagement thrills, which was, in retrospect, important to appreciating her later decisions, and once she met Strike, I thought things moved along just fine.
