You may have a point though I think he meant that it should help you to lessen the struggle to come up with a complete storyline After all if you have a well structured idea of where you are going and why in your story you will be less likely to run into the brick wall of wondering, "what happens next?" I'm working on transcribing the notes from his video about short stories so I can have a copy with me without having to refer to the video all the time.
