No question there.
The way Wii sales tanked after Kinect came out and the tepid reception for the 3D should have warned them the market had changed.
Right now the only thing keeping the Wii U from joining Dreamcast is the hope that their franchise games will rescue this XMAS to buy time so they can cost reduce the thing out of next gen pricing range (down to the ~$200).
So far it has a "fresh lemony" smell attached to it: their new controller is actually a step back in ergonomics and simplicity from thee Wii waggle wand interface. It is looking to be both too little and too late to market. By at least a year.
Wii brought a lot of new, casual gamers into the console market but a big chunk of them chose to upgrade to HD gaming via XBOX/PS3 instead of waiting for WiiU.
