Generally it is not really frozen it is just taking it's time. I used to do the remove card and plug it into usb port route, insert card etc.
Now I just switch readers
maybe an hour or several, I haven't sat there and watched. But 4 times it has come back, and at least once I checked it after 45 minutes and it was still appearing frozen.
A bug IMO in that it will take a very short time when you do the card thing. Same card, same books, should be same process, but sometimes it takes under a minute and sometimes over 45 minutes to do whatever it is doing.
