Calibre Crashes on PDF->Epub Conversion (0.9.4.3)

Hi there...

having a lot of trouble trying to convert PDFs to epub... have had lots of crashes over the last 24-48 hours after installing 0.9.4.3.

Notice that before, I could do conversions quite quickly on a bulky chunk of books (100+)
Since losing all my hardware and, having replaced it, am trying to re-instate my 3000+ title calibre library, I'm doing a lot of metadata downloading and file conversion (trying to embed metadata in the file this go-round, which I omitted last time.)

Not sure why, but for the first time I'm getting 3-4 hours to convert 20 pdfs or
just a complete crash/hang of my whole computer (20 or less files, more than 50 files, number of files not apparently a factor) requiring a hard reboot of the computer

Also never had this before, but starting to get errors on specific pdf's instructing me to turn on heuristic processing. Maybe that is why it's taking so long where before I could convert a complete series, grab some coffee, and begin work on the next one?

Or is this maybe all a function of something wrong in 0.9.4.3?

Would appreciate any help... thanks!
