I think I'm mainly remembering Harry's post where he said he'd had it happen on other ADE/RMSDK based readers...

Both. Not saying it never happened as with HarryT's post, just that I did not notice it happening. I have had books that it seemed to happen, but I looked at a couple of these books in other viewers and they were just ugly books. And this was before I owned anything Kobo.
The Kobo thing I was referring to is just the general lack of filling up the page when the next paragraph would fit as well as starting a long paragraph on a new page when it won't fit all on one page anyway. And occasionally putting a whole blank page or a page with just one word, when there is not even a long paragraph.
Now if there were not so many comments in the Kobo forum I probably would not have paid that much attention. I would have shrugged it off. These are pretty minor bugs on the Kobo bug list. At least 20 far worse that I can think of. But do to all the comments my curiosity was aroused.
I had 6 readers if you include my mothers kindle which isn't ADE, with much the same content. On 4/6 everything was normal. Both Kobo's seemed to display the same problems which was strange as the Aura should have been different from the Mini as far as paragraph length that could be displayed on the page went.
I'm inclined to think this is because Kobo is trying to update too many devices with the same firmware, but I could be wrong.
Perhaps the hardware's not as consistent as it might be. My pages don't turn consistently but some people's do. My margins can always be adjusted, but some people's can't. Changing the justification has zero effect for me, but I assume others do not have this problem. My sympathies lie with the poor Touch owners, who had a working back button and maybe everything sorted okay at one time. It has now been upgraded away
I am fine with the Mini as I bought it mainly to use on the bus and in waiting rooms etc. Extra page turns are of no consequence to me. The Aura is nice enough hardware wise, but I bought it under the impression that I could put several thousand books on it and it would allow me to access these books via shelves in a timely manner. Not happening. Not likely to happen in the foreseeable future. So I will sell it to some poor soul when I reach civilization again

I'll give them a really good price though.
