Is three years with a Kindle (Keyboard) the norm for how long the battery will last? (I know it depends on how much you read). I figure something like perhaps 20 charge cycles during a year for a total of 60 during a three year period. Let's be generous and extend that to a total of 75 charge cycles. Shouldn't it stand up to more?
I'm asking because today I had to reboot my K3 something like four or five times. Granted I had taken it on a beach walk. There are a lot of benches around the beach here so I would sit down and read for ten minutes before walking further. When I was finished reading I would turn it off but when I wanted to turn it on again I was forced to either slide the switch some four times or hold it for the required 15 seconds to have it reboot. This got me thinking that perhaps the battery has entered its golden years. I should also note that I just stuck it in a side pocket in my shorts while I walked, so don't know if the vibrations had any effect.
