Thanks all - I discovered I can get word count, and I do like that. But it is only visible in expanded library view. What I was looking for, what I want and really miss, is something that tells me *while I am reading* where I am in the book - page 45 of 250, or even word 10k of 100k. The little status bar at the bottom, and the percentage that I can see if I click on the top, are helpful, but if it is possible to tell me how many pages left in the chapter, why not in the whole book? Or maybe in the pulldown, where it says x% finished, it could tell me how many pages (out of total) that translates into? Or how many words, if I've done a word count calculation? (I suppose I could do the math, but I'd have to go back to library view to get the word count.)

As for the slider at the bottom - that serves as a very imprecise way to move around a book, but again, not equivalent to "go to page [or location] x." I like the "tap to go to last position" - but what if I move around a few times and forgot to bookmark my original place? It's not that I couldn't find a way, eg through search or chapter and then page jump, to get back where I was, but if I had an idea what page I had been on, going to that page directly would be much easier. Or if, say, I vaguely remembered that something I was looking for was near a certain page- or even a certain percentage through the book - there's no way now to get there directly. I guess it's just something I've come to think of as standard, and use a lot, in an ereader - like everything, we each use them different ways.

Speaking of bookmarks - can anyone tell me how to make them different colors?
