okay you need to nerf the TTY stuff IIRC. There isn't one.
There's a big pile of drivel about that from me on here somewheres but in essence its a virtual TTY (I think).

Hawhill might have a whizz bang solution for it but it might just need need a patch/wangle/nerf in the code.

as for initializing directFB stuff...

It's a bit of a tricky area but I got a few things running no problems.

Also: please do us all a favour and put the TYPE of kindle in your profile

"Kindle" doesn't tell me much.
