I had never heard of it before I got a job here, and it is RARE that I meet anyone that has. I was just at a conference in Philly for example, wearing a name tag that listed the school name and location - not a single person there recognized it. Not even one.
In certain circles it may be well known, but for the vast majority of the US... I highly doubt it as my personal experience says other wise.
