I went over the whole thread again, to get a refresher (boy, this has been going on for more than half a year, I feel your pain).
Two things stood out (again, no insight, just that stubbornness/logic thing):

So, no question about it, the only issue, as seen by the unit, is lack of power. In other words, no need to worry about anything else, including different combinations of button presses and resets, or even software installs.

This one caught me: The unit is off, you connect it to charge, the orange light says 'I am charging' but then stops? How long is 'a while' in this instance? Does this still happen?

If this latter is still on-going, and a while is shorter than, say, half an hour, then the unit is charging for that while, but for some reason bails out as e.g. wrongly reporting that battery is full? (Or maybe wrong current, but I doubt it.)


What do you think about this, is the above still the behaviour?
