C.J. Box - Joe Pickett series. I'd second Michael Connelly and Lee Child. Deaver, Burke, Sanford and Parker are all on my "To check out someday once I've concluded some of my current mystery series" list. A lot of people like Robert Crais and Stephen Hunter, those are two more on my list, can't vouch for them personally yet.

Also, I know that male American authors were requested, but Jo Nesbo (Norway), Arnaldur Indridason (Iceland), Henning Mankell (Sweden) and Tana French (Ireland) are all awesome authors that write crime/detective thrillers.
