Version 2.41 of OpenOffice (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenOffice.org) deals perfectly well with Pdf’s - it’s not a program I use normally, just testing it today for a class in Pdf/A I will be teaching Friday, and I’m quite pleased with the results… in my case it creates Pdf/A-1 files with zero errors when checking with Acrobat preflight option.
