can confirm it should work: I bought a Mini in the UK as a present to a relative in Italy. I'd say what matters is the account. In the worst case scenario you may have to modify the .ini file on the device, which is a text file (which some people have done to do the opposite of you, i.e. put an affiliate different from that in their country to get rid of publicity, etc).
