You must log into Sony store and register your reader with same account information as used on last reader. Sony uses Adobe Digital Editions DRM and you can have up to 6 devices on the same account. To register number 7 must remove one device from your account. Any books bought from Sony should auto sync with Sony store and added to your reader once it is registered to your Sony account. For books bought from other sources as ADE Epub they are uploaded using Adobe Digital Editions Home Software on your computer to your reader. This adds your account info to your ADE Epub book so it can be read on your registered reader.

Calibre works best with DRM free books.
