This is how I would do it:
Abby was gone, and Bill was who-knows-where, now.
However, this is a very awkward sentence, in my opinion.
Suggestion:
Now that Abby was gone, Bill was nowhere to be found.
Or:
Bill was nowhere to be found now that Abby was gone.
