I think you underestimate the urge some of us have to spend money on tech

Some years I spend more computer equipment alone than on living expenses and entertainment.
I bought two ereaders this year and will possibly get another in the fall if there is something a smidgeon nicer than what I have. Not dual paged because I am as happy with a 5"eader as a 6 or 6.8.
I don't need a 13.3 tablet/slate, but if I can afford it and can think up a good enough reason that I want one, why not. I think the student and engineering market could be pretty huge though. One friend of mine, who works for a small IT company (5-6 employees) has had Two Windows 8 tablets, a Windows smartphone, and a Windows 8 server purchased for him by his employer in under 6 months. These are items to be used pretty well at his discretion, not work necessities which he has more than enough of. If he wants a 13.3 Eink slate his company will buy him one, maybe a dual paged one

Linking 2 13.3 inch slates together for displaying B sized drawings could actually be useful
