A couple of weeks ago, I watched the Hitchcock thriller Topaz. I thought it would be interesting to read the original novel, by Leon Uris. So I searched for it in the Amazon.com Kindle store, but it wasn't available.

Today, I was browsing the store, and in the Literary Fiction Deals, there was Topaz, at $1.99.

Clearly, there's a chap at Amazon HQ whose job it is to keep an eye on all the searches that people do. He saw mine, realised what a good customer I am, and had a quiet word with the publishers. Naturally, they lost no time in making the book available.

So, if there are any other Uris fans out there, you can thank me for the fact that you can now get this book on your Kindle.
