I'm no fan of Wikipedia as an encyclopedia, but I can see his point. Rather than removing the reference, one might have edited it to read along the lines of "Ectaco was accused of astroturfing..." and "According to the moderators of the site..." but indeed, Wikipedia purports to be an encyclopedia, not a newspaper.
