Anyway, yes, my book. At the beginning Grace does leave her husband due to domestic violence. However, the bulk of the book is actually light-hearted and humourous. It's about Grace's healing, moving on, and finding happiness, with a lot of cake and laughter along the way!

The power of a supportive (if imperfect) family, as well as new friendships without judgement or expectation (a horse and an elderly neighbour) are probably far stronger themes in this novel. It's also a bit tongue in cheek, as you may have guessed from the horse friendship!

Life can be tough, marriages end, domestic abuse is unfortunately prevalent...but this is a feel-good and heart-warming novel showing you can get through these hard times (with maybe a sneaky tear here and there).

Are you an author yourself? Are you still waiting to create a signature? Just wondering what kind of things you write?

BTW I like your skull suggestion - both the name and the cover are meant to portray the fun and lightness in this book, despite the heavy subject matter. Maybe I need to show more humour in my blurb! Also, I went with Cake or Death after various other titles ALSO turned out to have been previously used. I was advised (quite sarcastically) that Cake or Death was not trademarked by Eddie Izzard so just DO IT!
