Thank you so much for responding -
In the meantime I seem to have solved the issue, but can't claim to have figured it out. If you know what likely happened and are willing to share, I'd be happy to learn. I can be obsessive about stuff like this -- but I don't have to be, so no pressure.
I ended up restoring my device to factory settings and starting over. My first clue that all has (apparently) gone well, is that my book covers now all appear on my homepage. Initially, only a couple of my Kobo-acquired titles did.
But in answer to your question: Yes. Within the Adobe Digital Editions UI, I navved to my ADE library, selected the titles I wished to add to the device, & dragged them to the Kobo Mini icon in the left-hand sidebar within Adobe Digital Editions. The books were eventually listed in the Library on the device itself, but on the device the ADE titles showed an underscore_between_each_word, like a 1980's DOS filename, whereas in the ADE library those underscores were not present. Now that all is well, the titles appear as they should (no underscores), so that was clearly also an indication that all was not well. Because the filenames (as opposed to the book titles visible through the UI) actually *do* have those underscores.
I like this tiny little thing. A lot. So I hope it remains stable now that it's working.
If anyone else has trouble, I'm happy to try to describe more clearly exactly what I did. The solution may be elsewhere, but I didn't find it. I did search Google for a fix, and read of someone with what sounded like a similar issue who started absolutely from scratch -- even going so far as to uninstall and re-install ADE. I do recommend re-setting to factory before taking *that* step, as that was all I needed to do. (So far. heh)
