It might be, but I would be surprised if it was. Don't most people spend almost all of their time moving from the front of the book to the back? If the average book has 500 pages, aren't you going to go forward about 500 more times then you go backwards? Doesn't it make sense to make the thing you are going to do almost all the time as easy as possible? If you hold the kobo in both hands, wouldn't it be nice to be able to use either thumb to move ahead?

If the answer to these questions is yes for most people, then this isn't a kaufman-specific issue. If not, then perhaps you are correct.
