A wrong (or broken) kernel alone should not affect your device's ability to start in fastboot mode.

That said, yes, try Kubrick on it.

If that also fails to get the device into fastboot mode, then you have a much bigger problem, because that would mean that you have overwritten (or erased) the device's boot loader, and possibly other vital information on it. Did you do anything else in fastboot apart from flashing the Kernel? If so, what?

If you have erased the boot loader, your only option would be to try and debrick it through the serial console.* I personally don't have any experience with that (I have two left hands when it comes to soldering), so I couldn't give any advice. But a few folks around here have been there and done that.

(*) Given the price tag of a K4 and the effort required, it may make sense to simply buy a new device instead. You could discard the old one, or maybe some of the hardcore hackers here would be interested in it.
