I live not far from NYC (about 37 miles via I-78) and can confirm that NYC is also home to a large population of opossums and foxes -- and a reasonable population of coyotes.
In Virginia we have weasels, vipers, foxes, coyotes, wolves, skunks, turkeys, pigs, and more; but I don't want to give you the wrong impression. Not all of our citizens are politicians.
