Moto X August 1st Event

I've been waiting for Samsung to price their S4 mini in the US for a very, very long time, but they don't seem to be in much of a hurry, and even if they were, overseas pricing is scary high for what the device is.

Meanwhile, the Moto X is set to unveil in a week and a half, and is rumored to go on sale on most US carriers the last half of August though in Canada it may be exclusive to Rogers. It's around 4.7", but appears to be very tightly packaged without unnecessary bezel. CPU looks like a dual core S4 pro, quad core adreno 320 GPU and there are two additional low power cores dedicated to voice processing and other sensors respectively. The voice processing core can remain active 24/7 while the rest of the device sleeps. It's expected to have a 720p OLED screen and be a fairly pure google device, though I suspect if you want a GED, you'll need to go to the play store instead of your carrier. There's also the Designed by You (custom back plates) and Assembled in America angle, FWIW.

The specs are mid range, but not crappy mid range. They're very respectable. Moto x is also expected to come with a very Nexus-like pricing scheme off contract, so there should be a long of bang for the buck.

The price is what's got me curious. The Nexus 4 is a fine device with a better price, but I'm in the market for OLED only right now. If this is basically an OLED N4, it'll be hard for me to pass up.
