I noticed it when I went to tweak maximum cover size. Could not make new numbers 'stick' - whenever i switched to another tweak and back, old size was still there. Then I tried to change something else - same story.

At last I noticed that 'Apply' button never turns green (like it did when I changed output profile to Tablet).
Even restarted Calibre, still no joy.
