But you would not say bye-bye to Sony if it actually released an android tablet?

On a tablet you are supposed to install yourself your favorite reading software. Although Sony probably would provide its reader pre-installed.

Rooting T2 is a very simple process (similar to firmware update, really) and it converts T2 into an android tablet (and also improves the native Sony reading software).

So I really don't see much difference between converting T2 into an android tablet or buying an android tablet.
The lack of official support from Sony for a self-made tablet - that might be the difference important to some people.
