I have been a fan of EVL for a long time, although at times his thrillers descend into soft-core porn. Not that there's anything wrong with that - just be aware there's a good bit of pretty graphic sex.

I love the Sunset Warrior trilogy, but I agree that it starts much better than it finishes. I recently read The Wool Omnibus, and was immediately struck by similarities between the silo and the Freehold.
