Oh, I'm late to this, aren't I?
PRS-505 – bought used, cheap, from eBay. Screen broke within a couple of months when SO put a pile of books on top of it. Battery died shortly afterwards. Lovely device, buttons in all the right places, felt solid; but left me with the impression it was very fragile.
Kindle 4 – still have this after 18 months, love it. A few blobs on the screen where things have fallen on it (or I've dropped it) and the ink's bled. No cracks though. It's a tough little thing, but the ink stains spoil it now.
Nook Simple Touch – as a potential replacement for the Kindle. Love the touch screen, hate the dictionary and the inability to add others. The "Home screen" feels tacky and pointless too.
Note: I didn't buy a Kindle until I knew it was possible to (ahem) "format-shift". I don't mind converting my epubs to mobi and mobi files to epub every year or two if it gives me freedom of choice.
