I found the most interesting to be the Casual and the Causal in History. It has an imposing title. It explores which events are part of an apparent movement in history versus those which are merely accidental.
As John Buchan died in 1940, this work published in 1935 is out of copyright in Canada, but is likely not elsewhere.
